Lesbian could get jail just because of her love!

Just because the law says sex with anyone under 16 is wrong. This woman has lost out on a career from her love, and has to inform all future employers that she's a "sex offender." Potentially she could be in prison until she's 40. The parents of the minor are even for the relationship.

Well, looking at it from a legal standpoint, under the current law, what she did was illegal, but the fact that the girl was like a year from being legal, maybe two, yeah, 14 years is a lot. I mean, if the girl was like 5, then yeah, that is a serious problem, but I doubt she was ever forced into anything, so yeah, 14 years... I mean, maybe just a suspension or something-(not because of the sexual nature, it is sort of unprofessional, as someone could be thinking she's getting extra points or whatever for her involvement. You know, people claiming this isn't far because of their relationship-educational stuff), but 14 years, that's a long time.
I mean, honestly I think these laws should be rewritten, that you can be a year or so underaged, and if YOU agreed to it and was NEVER forced into anything, well, what's the problem? A little kid doesn't know any different, but a 15 year old is old enough to know what she generally wants. If the law was like that, no one would be in any sort of trouble...and COME ON, if the parents have no problem with it, we shouldn't even be bothering with this. There are 5 and 6 year olds getting molested by way older men and yet, here we are letting THIS bother us? RI.DI.CU.LOUS. And it does make one question- if this had been a straight couple, would the sentence had been lighter?

Oh well, thanks. I don't want to get too personal, but, let's just say, I've "gained" this sort of viewpoint. But this kinda stuff gets me fired up, you know? Not in the 'I'm fired up for the rave party,' kinda way obviously, but like, in the 'God, this is sad and stupid and someone needs to do SOMETHING' kinda way. Ah, no, that was a lame joke, and this is really no time for joking.
Ashame after years of 'evolving,' this is how far we've come-not very.
I know change is scary, but come on people, get with it. Not all of these relationships with nearly legal kids are for perverted reasons- people do fall in love, you know? And like I said ealier, if she wasn't forced into it, then what's the problem?
