What got you into anime?

Even though my dad thinks it has taken over my brain, my first anime was actually thanks to him! I remember when I was....hm...no more than 4 no less than 3, I watched Miyazaki's film "My neighbor Totoro"
I fell in love with it, and then started onto Sailor Moon. Which I thought was real for a long time. By 10, I was introduced to FMA <3, Naruto, Evangelion, and many others until I had become to otaku I am today!

Sigh...I miss the good 'ol days when I thought anime was real...

omg those where the days, I've watched so much anime when i was small and didnt even knew what it was until someone actually introduced it to me in high school freshman year.

Before I knew wat anime was I've watched, Digimon, Dragonball Z, Cardcaptors, Poke'mon (almost everybody childhood cartoon XD), Moncole Knights, Sailormoon, Megaman NT Warrior, Ruroni Kenshin, Yugioh, Tokyo Mew Mew (Mew Mew Power in english), Flint the Time Detective...(i think thats an anime), Rave Master, Big O, Duel Masters, Kirby right back at 'Ya, Ultamate Muscle.....i also watched Spirted Away made by Miyasaki.

now that i think about it, i watched a whole load of them and never knew what it was.....how can that be???


I can watch Cardcaptors, Digimon, Dragonball Z, and Spirted Away over, and over, and over again, its just that good

But because of that I have a huge love for anime, and discovered things like manga, and anime's that are online.

Sailor Moon and Toonami/Adult Swim. LOL Not even joking.

I think I was about... 3-4 when I saw Sailor Moon and I fell in love with it. And from there I ended up stumbling onto Toonami and Adult Swim thanks to Cartoon Network and learned about DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo, Big O, Witch Hunter Robin, Detective Conan, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop. I also watched animes like Cardcaptor Sakura and YuGiOh, Digimon. All the good ol' animes. <3

I've always had a rather on/off relationship with anime though. LOL Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it. It's a complicated relationship and it's hard to explain.

I fell out of anime for a long time after toonami and Adult Swim took Yu Yu Hakusho off air. Then I found Inuyasha and Samurai Champloo and fell in love.

Inuyasha got popular, I hated it. They stopped airing Champloo. Fell out of anime.

Found FMA. Fell in love.

Randomly fell out again.

Then I finally read Bleach. LOL I don't know if it's really turned me back onto anime or not, but still?

I know I've watched a ton more animes but off the top of my head I cannot think of the rest of them. LOL It's 2am, I can't think clearly enough.

Hmmmm I was little and my grandma bought me a Sailor Moon movie for my birthday I think.....hmmm then I found Inuyasha and I thought Kagome was a sailor scout too. lol XD Then... I watched a lot of yugioh and pokemon... I hated Dragonball and Dragonball Z but I watched it anyway....then I got a computer....and after a while I found out it was called anime and all that stuff.

Ah I remember when I was young like that...

I didn't even KNOW what I was watching. When I was 2 or so I would watch Sailor moon and I loved it but didn't really understand any of it or that it was anime I just like that it was tv. Then I was sheltered, I couldn't watch tv without my mom there and the internet didn't even exist on my computor. Then we got into watching tv and more and more my mom let me do what I wanted. The summer or so before my 6th grade my brother got into a ninja show and it was of course: Naruto. He was obsessed with it, of course he didn't know what was going on he just loved the fighting part. Well then I started watching it and I loved it, every bit of it. I was obsessed with anime. I was an Otaku and I didn't even know it because they never said anime and I had no internet to tell and I had zero friends. When I got into 6th grade I made a bunch of friends based off my anime addiction but when I hit 7th grade they grew out of it and so did I because I was sick of one of my other friends bragging about things and well she just pissed me off. I hit 9th grade and I was still obsessed with yaoi and yaoi was my only connection to anime still. It was a very fine thread that I was about to snip when I said, "Nice shirt" to a girl wearing a Death Note shirt. They swarmed me and since it was right after my job at the library they told me about their anime club at the library. I was depressed by this because I wanted to be into anime but didn't want to do it alone. I wanted friends to rave and rant with about it and be an Otaku...again. That's where I am now, working my way back to my Otaku self. I want it back so badly...I am sooo close though >D

I remember when I first had gotten into anime. It started for me like it did for many. At first I had no real idea of what anime was, but anyways it started when I got into dragon ball z. I saw the first episode after radiz and goku were killed by piccolos special beam cannon. I though it was great. I waited every week for the new one to come on, unknown to me that It was really anime. Then eventually I started seeing other cartoons much like this and realized that they were different. However I did not realize this until it was up to the frieza saga where the 5 minutes that the planet was going to blow up in took about a month and a half. Anyways this is when I realized the difference and also got started on Rurouni Kenshin. One of my favorites I might add. Oh yeah during dragon ball z I learned of inuyasha which is another great one. And well all of these lead to other animes from salor moon, and detective conan, to the newer Bleach and FMA. Oh and I might as well add since I am here, the fact that they are continuing the inuyasha series just makes me so happy

I was like 6 when I got my first manga : Sailor Moon. Then I lended all my collection, 18 books, to a friend, and she lost them. WTF ???!!! I'm sure that she still has my books ...

Any way, I then stopped reading/watching 'cause I was so
But like ... 6 years later, I saw an old Sailor Moon episode on TV, and I wanted to watch again, so I went on internet to watch the all serie. I couldn't stop, and I moved to Naruto, Bleach, and more ... pervert things

I think anime was the reason a lot of us got into more pervert things lol. But I really enjoy anime and very glad I ever got into it.
