Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad is the story of Tanaka Yukio, better known by his nickname Koyuki is a 14 year old who feels disconnected from life in general. Through the act of saving a mismatched dog, he meets guitarist Minami Ryuusuke, and becomes involved in Ryuusuke's new band BECK. Koyuki's life starts to change as the band struggles towards fame.

Unf, BECK. Every time I watch a single episode it makes me want to learn guitar and bass. LOL So maybe I could be as epic as they are. It's so like... perfect, and realistic, and it just made me happy to watch. And the English makes me laugh. LOL It's better than some anime with some random English swearing, but still.

I'm so with Ryu-kun, too. Everything I write is in hiragana, not kanji, because I can't write kanji to save my life.

Beck is easily my favorite anime. I actually can't find a single flaw with it...ok I can with the original japanese, but not with the english dub. (I account that to the fact that I find most engrish annoying, but the Beat Crusaders are so good I will let them slide)

The writing is perfect, simply put. It sounds like a real conversation everytime someone speaks and the silence between characters usually tells you more about them then anything. But easily the best part of the anime is that Justin Cook voices Chiba. He is my favorite voice actors and in the last ten years he hasn't really been doing much voice acting. (However watch anything license by Funimation and you will see his name in the producers spot.) It just makes me happy to hear good old Yusuke Urameshi's voice again.
