What do you say to jumping off the edge?
Exhausted from chasing each other inside, Jeremiah and Bailey pant as they swoop under the counter top, Jeremiah in the lead as Bailey tries to make a mad swing to grab him. Bailey misses and Jeremiah ducks around the corner heading for the media room. Not far behind Bailey stops at the door out of breath, and looks at the younger boy already cuddled up on the chair under a blanket. Bailey crawls under the blanket to nestle against his best friend as his mom comes in the room. "You boys are something else. Either of you want a cookie?" The pair look each other in the eyes with excitement and nod brightly then giggle together. Bailey asks his mom before she leaves "Mommy would you turn on a movie for us?" The woman smiles and nods, going to the T.V. to turn it on as she looks through the movie colleciton "Anything for my boys." Underneath the blanket a hand reaches out to grab hold of another as the two boys rest on the large chair together.
Don't know much about your world,
Despite being only 7 and 9 years old, the fact the two had even met, little own became best friends so quickly seemed impossible. Bailey had already moved with his mom 6 times since he had been born. It had always been just the two of them. Finding a best friend just down the street still seemed like a fantasy to him, but here Jeremiah was, holding his hand.
Don't know much about your life.
The younger blonde smiles as hazel hues closed softly. Finally he knew someone he could feel comfortable with just being himself. His true self, without pretending. Even at such a young age the boy had learned how to put up walls to protect himself. He had to, it was the only way he could survive. But all that seemed like a bad memory now as they held hands together and everything else didn't seem to matter as much.
Author's note: Just a start. Rough idea really. I'll flesh it out more soon.
