A Love that Never Dies
“You’re not in love with me.”
“Of course I’m not in love with you. I love the idea of you.”
“Then why peruse me?”
“Because there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”
Chapter Two
AN: Much shorter, sorry. V.v I like to separate my stories into events so some of them tend to be too short or too long. And thank you all. ^^
Artemis, with Butler hanging near by, was officially puzzled. More or less. Bon-bon, know much better as Acteon, the purser of the goddess Artemis, had not been moved from his cell. However, he had been in his room. Artemis, no matter how intelligent a creature could be, he knew what he had seen and it had been Bon-bon.
His small figure sat at his computer desk, staring restlessly into the blue illuminated computer screen. This was not something he could let go. If Acteon had found a way to escape without anyone knowing, he had to find a way to keep the beast out of his home and away from his family. From previous experiences, the immortal did not follow the same standards as fairies.
On the other hand, if he was not free and someone else was messing with him, his family, he needed to find out who it was and crush them under his powerful intelligence. Currently, though, it seemed more likely that Acteon was messing with him, he just didn’t know how.
“Artemis.”
The smaller male turned to face Butler, however, the man hadn’t moved. Actually, not that he looked close, he truly hadn’t moved. He wasn’t even blinking. Artemis stood to face the much larger man.
“Butler.”
The man made no movement that signified that he had heard his target.
“Butler!”
Artemis said again, louder this time. But again, the man did not move. This was starting to creep him out, that and the sudden chill that made his shoulders jerk back and Goosebumps apart over his delicate neck.
“Bon-bon!?”
Of course, he had thought about the fairies, too, but he had done nothing wrong lately. Lately, actually, they had left him alone. He had been far too busy with his brothers to bother them.
“Artemis Fowl.”
Startled, Artemis turned to the voice that sounded incredibly close to him. A male, no bigger than himself, stood. He had curly blond hair that wrapped around his face and stunning blue eyes dressed in a black cloak.
“Artemis Fowl! Three years your presents has been gone! Explain yourself!”
Artemis stared at the figure, trying to piece things together. However, none of the pieces fit together very well. If they even belonged to the same puzzle. He much have hesitated too long, for the figure became angrily again.
“Your answer! Artemis Fowl!”
If this was something Acteon was trying to pull over him, he was going to be pissed.
“You know me, but I have yet to know you. Why should I tell you anything?”
“I am Death!”
“Pardon me?”
“Death! Vdekje! Olum! Kamatayan! Cai chet! Morte! Doden! Pick your poison, mortal! You are dead!”
Dead? Artemis didn’t like the sound of that. So, there were fairies, demons, pixies, immortals, and now Death? No surprise there. He wasn’t ready to die, however, and was quickly forming a plan in his head to talk his way out of this.
“Are you not so mighty that you do not know my presence?”
“Silence! If you cannot answer me, you shall die!”
That had so not gone as he had planned. He flinched away quickly, ducking his head down as he watched the razor sharp blade come at him. He could hear flesh ripping but he felt no pain. He opened his mixed matched eyes slowly. There was blood on the floor, on the wall, over his computer screens and the blade, but none one him.
“Artemis is mine.”
Acteon? He covered his mouth. Oh god. There was a lot of blood. Artemis wasn’t woozy around blood, but there was a lot of blood.
“Acteon! What is the meaning of this?!”
Bon-bon straightened himself up, holding his unattached arm in place. It sewed itself back to the rest o his body without so much as a scare.
“I’m not ready to give this one up.”
“And why should I pay any attention to you?~”
“Because I know your dirty little secret.”
Death fumed, his face flushing red. Bon-bon smirked at him devilishly, holding out his newly fixed arm to protect Artemis.
“Then you much bring me a soul!”
Then quietly the figured disappeared.
“Are you alright, Artemis?”
“Artemis!”
Butler had seen the blood and Artemis and that was it. He yanked the boy away from Bon-bon quickly, standing in front of the smaller black haired male.
“Oh Butler, how I loathe you.”
And with that, he was gone again, leaving his blood to stain Artemis’ room.
