Okay so the other I re-watched the memorial commemoration that they have in DC on UNCTV. It made me cry my eyes out. It also influenced the new theme of my page and to create this thread. Do any of you have someone you know, love, or care about in the armed forces where you live? Be it the US, Germany, Zimbabwe where ever you are, take a moment to tell a little something about what they did and how that makes you feel.
I'll start it: My daddy serves in the US Army. He has been deployed multiple times and each time I missed him a good amount. I was blessed each and every time because he came home unharmed.
However, My uncle was'nt that lucky. My uncle was a retired Air Force Pilot, he was my momma's uncle. He had earned the purple heart during his thirty something years of service. Unfortunately, he died last year and left my family crushed. He had served our country and was willing to die for our safety. Luckily he made it back but, not without a price. He had returned home with an injury to the chest that did irreversable damage to his heart. He toughed it out, I guess until he decided it was time to leave us all.
I just wish I could have spent more time with him in my years of living and that I could tell him how much I loved him and how he and my daddy were/are my heroes.
