Loyal to his pack but longing to be with the one he loves, Samuel has to make a choice. Should he follow his heart and be with the one he loves, or should he continue to follow his pack mates? He knows if he exposes the truth about his lover that he won't be accepted by the pack, but that can't keep him from feeling the way he does. Love or Loyalty?
"Your personality makes you yourself, but at times you cannot be what you want to."
The very dim silhoutte of a male weaved in and out of trees at a quickening pace. Uneven breathing shattered what had once been almost complete silence. Leaves crunched under foot, eyes darted back repeatedly showing fear, and heart thudded loudly against a chest. "Have to get away.. have to.. get a.. way.."
Emerald green eyes shot open, chest heaved in and out rapidly, and sweat trickled down the boy's face. A dream. That's all it had been, a mere dream, but that dream had caused him to break out in a sweat and truly and honestly cause him to feel like he was in danger. The boy's muscles relaxed as the fact that it had only been a dream sunk in. Never had he gotten so worked up before, especially over some stupid dream.
The male sat up in his small and uncomfortable bed, running his fingers through his thick brown hair. He had been having these dreams for a while now, but none had been so intense as this one. He hadn't dared to actually consult with anyone about his dreams. Mainly because he couldn't fully understand them himself and it irriated him to death.
"Samuel?" a female voice questioned making the boy jump considering he had not expected the sudden outburst. He recognized the voice as his mother's and she wasn't someone he was afraid of. "Samuel? Are you alright? I thought I heard you talking," she continued.
Samuel heaved a sigh, "I'm fine, mom. It was just a dream nothing to get worried over," he stated with a slight hint of irriation in his voice. He knew perfectly well that she was only concerned for his well being, but having her so protective got annoying.
"Alright," she said after a long silence. "Wake Matthew, will you? I haven't the time, I really must be off," she continued, and footsteps sounded off down the hallway but came to an abrupt halt. "And Samuel, please try to have a good day."
Samuel knew exactly what she had meant by a 'good' day. She wanted him to not start any trouble and be a good little boy. He wasn't a little boy though, and his mother trying to tell him what to do and what not to do only made him want to resist that much more.
Samuel hoisted himself up off of the bed, and stumbled over to the dresser. He put on a loose plain white t-shirt and some ragged looking jeans. After giving his hair a few strokes with a comb so that it wasn't sticking up, he headed towards Matthew's room.
Waking Matthew was probably the most unpleasant thing in the world. He absolutely refused to get up and you had to wrestle with him for about twenty minutes before he finally came to his senses. Then when you did get him up usually he was in a crappy mood and frequently cussed at whoever had woken him.
Hesitantly he creaked the door open slightly and peered in to see Matthew in a deep sleep. The thought of just letting him sleep ran through Samuel's mind, but he decided that the consequences for that were too great. He made his way over to the sleeping male, and shook him softly. When the boy didn't even stir he got a little bit more aggressive.
After about ten minutes of shaking Matthew, yelling, and fighting with the boy Samuel got him to fully wake up. Matthew blinked a few times looking tired as if sleep hadn't left him completely. "You.. why did you wake me up?" he said, not sounding nearly as cranky as normal.
"Believe me, I didn't want to. Mom said I had to though, and there's not really anything I can do about that," he stated. Samuel let his arm rest on the back of his neck for a moment. "Well, don't go back to sleep because I ain't waking you up again, I can promise you that. I won't be held responsible if you do either," he added before leaving Matthew alone.
Samuel took the stairs two at a time actually looking forward to school today. Normally he would've argued and tried to persuade his parents to let him stay home but today was different. Today they were supposed to be receiving a transfer student. Male or female, the teacher hadn't said, but the newbie would be an easy target for Samuel. He took pleasure in messing with the new students, and today was going to be interesting.
Even though Samuel had actually gotten up early by the time he got to school he was almost late. He paraded into the school like he owned the place and had all the time in the world. Samuel casually strutted down the hallway and towards his class. As he entered he heard some giggles from some girls in the corner of the room. Samuel had an almost 'fan' club going on. He hadn't organized it, nor did he like or support it. Frankly, it got on his nerves.
For some reason that he was unaware of he was popular with the ladies because of his personality or some nonsense like that. He slid into one of the chairs in the back of the room, and put his arms behind his head. The tapping on the desk with a ruler made Samuel glare up at the front of the room. "Class," the teacher said sternly. "Today we have a transfer student like you all may know. Please come on in," the teacher said.
A small boy with dirty blonde hair entered the classroom. He had icy blue eyes that would remind anyone of winter itself, and his innocent features made him look like a girl. "My name is Taylor Dydra. Nice to meet you," he said in a voice similar to a young child's.
Samuel found himself sitting up straight, almost leaning forward he was glaring at the boy so intensely. He didn't know why he was so hypnotized by the boy, but Samuel found that he couldn't stop staring. What was it about this boy that intrigued Samuel so much? He couldn't explain this to himself, but Samuel knew that he was definitely going to have some fun with the male.
As the bell rang signaling that the class was over, Samuel almost ran over to Taylor. He wrapped his arm around the boy's neck trying to seem as friendly as possible. "Hey, I was thinking I could help you out with... things," Samuel offered. "There are a lot of people that could and would love to mess with a boy like yourself," he added, of course this included Samuel himself.
A slight blush tinged the very tops of Taylor's cheeks as Samuel spoke. "A-alright. I do need some help finding my classes and such," he admitted. Samuel smiled, this boy had fallen right into his trap. Too bad for him he had absolutely no idea what Samuel had in mind for him.
