Once upon a time, there was a strange alien.
Well, he didn't think he was strange, but everyone around him thought he was strange, even his family. He always dreamed of another world, where there was a little boy with a smile on his face. Everyone who heard of the dream told him that he was crazy because there was no other life in the universe but theirs, but the little alien refused to believe them.
So one day, the little alien decided to go find the boy in his dream. He saved up his money until he could buy a spaceship and then took it towards a distant star.
The journey was very long, so the little alien slept most of the time. He was still sleeping when he bumped into something. Now awake, the little alien opened the door to his spaceship...and he saw a strange world.
There was a strange structure on some short, rough green stuff with a triangle at the top. A dull gray pattern of squares led up to this strange structure.
Finished examining the strange structure, the little alien decided the next thing to do would be to explore the strange structure. So that's what he did.
He stepped out of his spaceship, but stopped at the steps when something flew out of the strange structure. It was a little boy. His little boy, the one from his dream.
The little alien was shocked, so he stood frozen by his spaceship. The little boy probably did not feel the same way, because he ran right up to the little alien.
"What are you?" he asked in awe as he looked up to the slightly taller little alien. The little alien looked at himself, then looked back at the little boy.
"I'm a little alien. I do not look strange, do I?" the little alien asked.
"No...but you look different from other people," the little boy replied.
The little alien felt a little self-conscious, so he changed his shape to look more like the little boy.
"Cool!" the little boy shouted out. "How did you do that?"
The little alien just shrugged his now clothed shoulders -- this material was strange against his skin.
The little boy accepted the "explanation" and grabbed the little alien's hand. "Come on! Come play with me!"
With that, the little boy brought the little alien around the town. They had lots of fun that day, from playing on the local playground ("Are you sure about this?" "Yea, I'm sure. Just slide down!" "Oof!"), playing tag in the park (after the little boy taught the little alien how to play), visiting the best ice cream shop in town ("This stuff is delicious! What is it?" "Ice cream, silly!"), and seeing a movie together ("What are those moving images? Are they real?" "Um, I really don't know...").
But soon the sun began to set, and the little boy grew sad. The little alien was slightly hurt at the little boy's sad expression so he asked what was wrong.
"Well, you came here to play with me today. But now it's nighttime and you have to go home now, right? But then you'll leave me alone."
The little alien was touched at the little boy's concern. He brushed aside the little boy's bangs and gave his forehead a little kiss.
"I won't leave you if you don't want me to," he promised the little boy.
The little boy smiled in response.
So the little alien stayed on that strange planet with the little boy, living with him in that strange structure ("It's called a house." "A house? What's a house?") where the little boy's parents adopted him ("What does that mean?" "It means you're my brother now, and we'll always be together!" "Always together?" "Always.")
